Universal Basic Income (UBI)

Universal basic income (UBI) is a regular, unconditional cash payment made to every individual, regardless of work or wealth. The debate over UBI usually centers on how to fund it.

Unitism answers that question with a citizens’ dividend: rather than taxing production to pay everyone, it distributes the rent of land and natural resources — wealth that already belongs to all in common. It is a basic income drawn from the commons.
